Event Description
Auditing and assurance professional standards are changing with the times and the desire of the AICPA to move the profession into a new era where use of technology will play a key role in an audit and professional skepticism, independence, and quality are emphasized. We are seeing changes annually lately as the AICPA has issued over a dozen new standards since 2019.

The Quality Management Standards are here to stay, and monitoring should already be underway. SAS No. 145 is continuing to present unique issues for firms despite becoming effective in 2023. And the AICPA continues to modernize its other standards to meet the moment. As your one stop shop for AICPA standard setting, this program will discuss SASs 145 through 149, the Quality Management Standards, and other recently issued standards that you need to understand to perform the highest quality engagements in 2026. Let us be your guide so you spend the time where it is needed most — with your clients and with your engagement teams.

Objectives:
  • Understand the reasons why so many standards have been issued in such a short time and what has changed the most with their issuance
  • Identify the AICPA’s priorities for 2026
  • Gain familiarity with the standards that are on the horizon in 2026 and beyond

  • Discuss the components of the newest standards on 2026 calendar year ends and beyond
