Speaker Bios

Brittany DeMolee, CPA, partnership/dealership industry leader at Eide Bailly LLP, helps clients understand how tax law impacts their business and assists them with planning to minimize tax burdens. She provides income tax planning and compliance services to a variety of clients, including multi-state dealerships, retail businesses and individuals.

Brian Kelley, CPA, MST, director at Sikich, has more than 25 years of experience providing multistate tax services for companies in the construction, manufacturing, distributing, professional services and technology industries. He performs seller and buyer side multistate tax due diligence, nexus studies, negotiating voluntary disclosures and audit defense.
 
Dan Kidney, CPA, JD, director at Wipfli, LLP, is a seasoned state and local tax (SALT) specialist with more than 25 years of experience. He leads the firm’s SALT income tax function and regularly presents state tax updates for the Minnesota Society of CPAs. Dan also serves as the primary Minnesota tax resource for the Independent SALT Alliance, sharing his expertise with peers across the profession.
 
Tyler Macik, JD, senior manager in KSM’s state and local tax group, advises clients on a wide range of multistate tax matters. He helps them understand and manage their state tax obligations while navigating complex and evolving laws and regulations. Tyler works with businesses operating across multiple state and local jurisdictions to analyze state and local tax consequences, identify opportunities to reduce liabilities and resolve challenging tax issues and controversies.
 
Chelsea Nunn is a senior manager in RSM’s State and Local Tax Practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She provides services on various state and local tax issues, including sales and use taxes, income taxes and payroll taxes. Chelsea works on a mixture of large multi-national companies in varying industries. She has in-depth knowledge of flow-through taxation, including pass-through entity tax regimes, composite, and withholding requirements. Her primary focus is on state income tax planning and compliance, nexus studies, tax research and compliance, and state tax controversy assistance.
 
Justin Shelman, CPA, MST, tax partner and leader of Prosperity Partners’ high net worth and family office tax group, implements the company’s strategic goals and develops the next generation of leaders. He advises clients on a range of tax planning and structuring opportunities and uses his deep knowledge of federal and state tax law to provide multi-generational income and estate planning, state residency analysis and tax preparation services. Justin serves on the Illinois CPA Society’s state and local tax committee and speaks regularly on emerging technical issues.
 
Keith Staats, president of the Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois, has 36 years of experience in state and local tax. He joined the TFI team from the Chicago office of Duane Morris, LLP, where he represented clients in a variety of state and local tax matters. Prior to this, Keith was the executive director of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Tax Institute, and also served as acting president and CEO during 2023.
 
Stacy Watson, tax shareholder, began her career in 1994. A recognized authority on state and local taxation, she has become a key voice in Nebraska’s legislative landscape, serving as tax policy chair for the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and influencing regulations that impact businesses statewide. Specializing in sales and use tax analysis, legislative review, and international tax matters, Stacy provides strategic guidance to clients across a wide range of industries. She blends her technical expertise with actionable insights to help clients navigate complex nexus issues and evolving requirements. Stacy values crafting tax policy that benefits both businesses and the communities they serve.
